Optimization of process parameters of medium carbon steel joints joined by MIG welding using Taguchi method

In this study, related to getting better obtain the mechanical properties of medium carbon steel joints joined by MIG welding method using Taguchi groove were optimized. Grove angle (60?, 75? and 90?), current (100 A, 110 A 120 A) voltage (25 V, 30 V 35 V) used as parameters. The results showed that highest tensile strength 597.963 MPa was obtained at 90?, lowest 395.125 MPa. elongation 11.551% 8.354%. addition, it observed changes in values significantly affect joints. According ANOVA analyses, most effective parameter on average determined be (62.75% 75.58%, respectively). Based S/N ratios, optimal parameters for A3B3C2 factors.
